The Swine Flu

That's right. The swine flu has hit our house with a vengance. Yesterday morning, I woke up feeling funny so my mom encouraged me to go to the doctor's office asap. I did and sat there for 3 hours with 20 other people wearing masks. Once the doctor saw me he said he had no question that I had the swine flu. He put me on Tamiflu immediately and my husband too just as a safety precaution so he doesn't get it.

If you are familiar with H1N1 you probably know a fever, muscle aches, headache, stuffy nose, etc are symptoms.

The doctor told me that they don't use temperature as an indicator of swine flu but rather heart rate. If the heart rate is >100 than most patients with the above symptoms have the swine flu which requires you to miss 72 hours of work or school. My heart rate was 104 so I guess they knew that I have it. It progressively gets worse and becomes more miserable as time goes on. Hopefully I will be over it soon. I have a wonderful husband doting on me so I can rest. If you aren't feeling well go to the doctor today and get medicine soon so the swine flu doesn't keep spreading. Wash your hands too! With my job I was doomed to get it because I shake 30 hands a day and most of my coworkers have already had it. Oh well, at least I'll be immune to it in a couple of days.
