Some Good News!!!

Well, I figure it's finally time to share the good news! I have been avoiding the blog sphere for a while now so no one would figure out our news till I was ready to share it! We are pregnant! But....that's not all. We are pregnant with two. That's right, we're having twins! Sometimes it's hard for me to fathom it myself but now at 15 weeks I think it is starting to sink in.

Our babies are due on 10/10/10 but will probably not be born anywhere close to that because twins inevitably seem to come early. At least we can tell the babies they had a cool due date! We don't know the genders quite yet but hopefully in the next two weeks. We could have a combination of just about anything since we are having fraternal twins. Jordan and I have a gut instinct on what they are but we'll share it if we are right!

We couldn't feel more blessed or humbled at being chosen to raise two of the Lord's children at the same time. It is easy to feel inadequate but we have faith that the Lord will make up for what we lack! I welcome ANY and ALL advice on motherhood especially if you have some twin insight. We are no longer hesitant to stop every parent of twins that we see and ask for advice. We will keep you well informed on our journey through parenthood with twins, but for now we just pray that they will continue to be healthy and strong.

Here's a blurry ultrasound we got last week. The poor baby on the bottom was looking a little squished during the ultrasound while the top baby was having a great time stretching and showing the world that it has all the room in the world to move around. Hopefully they'll turn soon and both get to enjoy a little space!

Don't you worry, I am definitely looking pregnant. I finally feel like I am passing the just "looking fat" stage to the noticeably pregnant stage. People have no qualms about asking if I am pregnant! It's been a fun journey already even while being terribly sick. I must admit though, it's the best kind of sick I have ever been! I'll take throwing up for a purpose over other health problems I've faced any day! Thanks for letting us share our good news with you!!

Oh Hilary I am soooo excited for you!!! I read your post and got butterflies in my stomach! You will be the most amazing mother! :) I am actually reading a book right now that I wish SO badly I would have read before Lincoln is born. It is called The Breastfeeding Book by Martha Searsn, RN and William Sears, MD (husband and wife). It talks about so many things above and beyond nursing and has a good section on twins also. I checked mine out at the library and read through it in just a few days. I can't wait to hear about your journey through this pregnancy! Giving birth to my son was the most wonderful experience of my whole life...I am so excited for you! :)

ahh!! We are so excited for you guys!!!! We were just talking the other day how fun faternal twins would be- especially if it was a boy and a girl. You'd get the best of both worlds. That is soo exciting for you guys! Being parents is the best/craziest adventure you'll ever have:)The only advice I have is take any help that is offered, I had this wierd hang-up after we had our baby that it meant I wasn't a good mom, or I didn't love her enough if I admited that sometimes it's hard and every now and then I needed help. Life became a lot easier when I finally realized it's ok to ask for help. We're so happy for you guys, hope you and the babies continue to be healthy:)
