Thanksgiving 2011

This year has been full of firsts for many new holiday traditions. We celebrated Thanksgiving in Omaha this year and we hosted it. I'd say it turned out better than expected! We enjoyed every bit of it! Wonderful food and wonderful company what more could you ask for? We crammed into our small living room. Not bad for 11 people I'd say! Jordan and I were in charge of the turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and the sweet potatoes. The Kunz's brought yummy salads, a veggie tray, and rolls and the Sweeten's brought quite the spread of pies and a fruit tray! Every bit of it was delicious! We ended the night playing lots of games and chatting. It was perfect!

Here's the setup.

I made place cards and we had little favors for everyone. Nail polish and emery boards for the girls and games and sports gear for the guys.

Look at these pies! There were 6 of them and they were all delicious!

Before the festivities began we started the morning watching the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade! A must!
Here are our little turkeys on turkey day.

We missed family but our great friends are the next best thing to family. Thanks guys for helping to make Thanksgiving so special!
