Saturday was an exciting day for the Baker household. Mrs. Baker, Hilary of course, had invited the "miss"-es whom the men are fighting to make their Mrs., to a Miss America Pageant Party. Mrs. Baker had everything perfect in time for their arrival. For those of us guys who do not get the opportunity to experience the organization of relief society, I found, notwithstanding the very feminine and pink touch to the decorations, the whole set-up quite pleasing. Not to mention the homemade pretzels (made by my sweetheart herself), the pineapple (supplied by Annie "the Mrs. in the making), the trail mix (gifted by Nikkie), etc.
I tried to get friends together to play basketball so I could leave Hilary and all of her so very good friends to have fun alone and without the awkward guy in the room, let alone during a Miss America Party. I didn't succeed. We had to play basketball earlier in the afternoon, which we did.
I did enjoy however watching Hilary and her friends together and seeing the smile on my wonderful wife's face as she enjoyed time catching up with her friends and strengthening those relationships they share. I split as soon as the Pageant was over and did homework at the desk in our spare room and the party concluded as it should, with the Mrs. and the "miss"-es chatting away, talking about the men they hope will make them their Mrs.
