The end of September, Jordan and I decided it would be super fun to give my dad his early 50th Birthday gift. Since he is so extremely busy all the time and deals with way more stress than any human being should be allowed to endure, we decided to fly him out to us and enjoy him for a weekend. We flew him into Kansas City and met him there and enjoyed the weekend in Kansas City. We then drove back to Omaha and enjoyed one last day with him before we had to send him on his way. The weekend was perfect and it was so fun to have him around and see him actually enjoy himself for a few minutes!
We picked him up from the airport and took him straight to Oklahoma Joes. I think it was safe to say he loved it. He is a Diners, Drive-ins, and Dive's fanatic.
We went swimming at the hotel in the subzero pool but the three of them didn't seem to mind one bit.
The girls would have stayed in the water with him for hours if we had let them.
Such a fun Grandpa!
Once back in Omaha we went up to see the trains at the Botanical Gardens.
I love this picture. The love these three have is very mutual.
Enjoying Papa's pop at Noodle's and Company.
Lots of this took place. I think Sofia sensed he wouldn't be staying long so she caught up on all the snuggles she could before he left. These two are two peas in a pod.
If Papa's using technology then these two are two peas in a pod.
Ha and my dad entrusted his hair in my hands and I gave him a haircut. I think I laughed and cried while cutting his hair because it just kept getting shorter but I could have buzzed his head and he would have told me it was the best haircut he ever received.
Man alive, I love this guy. I am a major Daddy's girl and it's easy to see my girls follow suit. He is the best dad a girl could have asked for. He is kind, patient, loving, understanding, logical, slow to anger, thinks exactly like I do so can always reason and help me understand my anxieties, fears, concerns, etc. He would give the shirt off his back to anybody who needed it without thinking twice. He truly is a wonderful example and I just love him so much. Happy 50th daddy (On Feb. 11th). I hope you know how much this Omaha family loves you!
