The 20 Hour Cake

I have just completed my second Wilton Course--the fondant and royal icing class. I really enjoyed this class but it was probably the most time consuming. This cake took me a total of 20 hours over about 3 weeks time.

I have been making roses everytime we have a date night and can watch a movie.
Then tonight, I worked on this final cake for 4 hours just decorating. It is so much fun to try and display creativity on a piece of confectionary.
I really enjoy this new hobby of mine.

Anyway, enjoy!

Holy Cow! I am so impressed! Your cake turned out so beautifully! Are you going to take any more classes or are you a cake decorating pro now? What a talent you've developed! I hope you're doing well! We need to do lunch soon!!! :)

Haha! Thanks. I am far away from a pro...it requires so much practice, but I love it. I am going to take the other 2 classes but not for a little while. I need to spend some time just practicing the things I have already learned. We REALLY need to do lunch soon. Let's make time!

Wow, impressive! I can't do cakes like that! That is such a fun hobby, and you've gotten really good at it. I'm sure you could make a business out of it! Nice work!

Hilary! I am so jealous! That looks like so much fun and you really do a great job. Where did you take your classes from?

Wow! I'm so impressed! I really want to take that class now. I also really want to see you since I haven't seen you ALL semester! Will you be around this summer? I'm leaving for work for May and June but I'll be back in UT July and August!

P.S. - Glad you found my blog and showed me yours!
