Taste of Omaha

Once all of our visitors left we had to find some fun things around here to do; so our first weekend alone here in Omaha we visited the 'Taste of Omaha'. It is kind of like a glorified farmer's market but for all of the food vendors here in Omaha for everyone to have the chance to taste. It was a ton of fun. We started the morning out by going to the actual farmer's market, which we loved. There was live music on every corner...old men playing string instruments on one corner and the next young boys playing stringed instruments. Super fun. I even got some Basil starter plants for our "garden" (medium sized planters).

We then hit 'Taste of Omaha' and got some different food to try. We tried a pulled pork sandwich, humus and flat bread, and a root-beer float. All pretty darn good. We set up camp down by the Missouri river which is so extremely high all of the attractions are flooded like the one below. Jordan spent a whole afternoon this week helping sandbag as our neighbors to the East in Iowa are at risk of loosing their homes from all of the flooding.

The girlie's LOVE to play in the grass. The picture below was taken at home before we left. The revolt of the headbands. I'm sure the conversation went something like this, "Hey Bella, I bet if we rip our bows off and put the headbands over our eyes dad will think we're trying to play Star trek and let us keep these dumb things off of our foreheads. Dad loves when we play boy games. Come on, let's try it."

Jordan and I walked in the living room to find the girls looking around with these on their eyes. They thought it was hilarious and I guess so did we!
Dad is so good to always take pictures so he's never in them. I'll be better about that.
We had a ton of fun that weekend. Here's to more fun Omaha weekends!
